On raw canvas, acrylic and ink come first, then needle and thread: cross stitches, little knots, embroidered blades of grass and twigs. The stitches sit on top of the paint and cast small shadows, depending on how the light falls.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe small pieces from the \u003ca href=\"\/en\/collections\/forest\"\u003eForest\u003c\/a\u003e and \u003ca href=\"\/en\/collections\/holy-aperoly\"\u003eHoly Aperoly\u003c\/a\u003e series stay in the wooden embroidery hoop they were made in.
