Collection: Art with embroidery

Some of my paintings are not only painted but also embroidered. On raw canvas, acrylic and ink come first, then needle and thread: cross stitches, little knots, embroidered blades of grass and twigs. The stitches sit on top of the paint and cast small shadows, depending on how the light falls.

The small pieces from the Forest and Holy Aperoly series stay in the wooden embroidery hoop they were made in. Forest is about a walk through the woods in summer, Holy Aperoly about warm evenings with friends. “Du darfst ne Maus sein no.1” shows that embroidery works on a large scale too: 100 x 120 cm (39.37 x 47.24 inches), in a floater frame.

Every piece is an original, painted and embroidered by hand, signed and with a certificate of authenticity.

"I love the exciting combination of acrylic painting and embroidery. Crossover art means mixing and reinterpreting disciplines, techniques, colours and textures. Why not break the rules?"
